At ISCSEM, all classes are taught in Portuguese. Incoming students that will contact with patients (dental clinic and training in community/hospital pharmacy) are expected to be fluent in Portuguese. Exams can be held in a different language when previously agreed with the lecturer. For placements in research laboratories, students only have to be fluent in English.
ISCSEM organizes intensive Portuguese Language Courses before each academic year.
Incoming Erasmus students enrolled at Egas Moniz are allowed to attend courses of Portuguese for foreigners offered by FCSH of the New University of Lisbon.
