Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
- Objectives: provide the theoretical foundations and the practical specificities as the basis to understand the personality assessment methodologies, so that students are skilled to select and use them.
- Skills: understand the concept of stability of personality, linking it with its predictive potential; understand the ethical and deontological aspects associated with personality assessment; planning and conducting a semi-structured interview, in line with general objectives and specific assessment of personality; understand and use the different assessment tools for personality; articulate the instrument results with the interview and clinical observation; integrate the data of the cognitive evaluation together with the personality assessment.
Syllabus:
Lectures:
- Theoretical foundations of personality assessment.
- Methods and techniques of personality assessment .
- Distortion of responses.
- The psychological examination report.
Clinical practical classes:
Training in conducting semi-structured interviews, use of different techniques and analysis of information, to assess personality.
Training in application, results quoting, analysis and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative results and articulation of the results, using: Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2, Sixteen Personality Factor-5 Questionnaire, Revised NEO Personality Inventory.
