Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
- Objectives: present the methodologies of nosologic classification of mental disorders; describe the main psychopathologic conditions, considering the lifecycles stages; provide direct contact with hospitalised disordered patients at the Hospital Júlio de Matos looking forward deepen the skills around clinical data collection and comprehensive analysis of the different psychopathologic conditions.
- Skills : understand how to use the multi-axial classification system of DSM-V; identify the symptomatic manifestations and characterize the psychopathologic conditions considering the lifecycle stages; discuss differential diagnosis; relate the psychopathologic conditions with the overall health, well-being and social and cultural integration.

Clinical practical classes:
In the practical classes, to be held at the Hospital Júlio de Matos, students will have direct contact with hospitalised patients, elaborating their clinical histories and discussing the different manifestations of the psychological disorders.
