Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
- Objectives: contextualize psychopathology and analyze the differentiating criteria between normative and pathologic; present the main investigation methods and theories in Psychopathology; learn the clinical data collection strategies towards the subjects suffering of mental disorders; present the semiology of psychological function disorders; provide a direct contact with subjects with mental disorders who are hospitalized at the Hospital Julio de Matos.
- Skills: distinguish normative from pathologic, applying differentiating criteria to clinical cases; identify and characterize the signs and symptoms of disordered psychological function; collect clinical data, demonstrating awareness of the specifics around the relationship psychologist- mentally disordered subject; structure and discuss the clinical data with the hospitalized patients categorizing them on the different manifestations of psychological disorder; contextualize the scientific production within the different theoretical models.

- Basis of Psychopathology.
- Normative and pathologic.
- Data collection strategies.
- Semiology of psychological disorders.
Clinical practical classes:
In the practical classes, to be held at the Hospital Júlio de Matos, students will have direct contact with hospitalised patients, elaborating their clinical histories and discussing the different manifestations of the psychological disorders.
