Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
The curricular unit Microbiology and Parasitology aims to enable the student to understand the importance of establishing rules and routines that minimize the occupational microbiological risks and prevent the infections associated with health care.
At the end of the curricular unit the student should be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge about the diversity of microorganisms and their harms and benefits to Humans.
- Explain fundamental concepts about etiology, epidemiology, prevention, and control for microbes, in a succinct manner.
- Have a concise, up-to-date overview of the roles microorganisms play in human health and illness.
- Link fundamental principles with the diagnosis and treatment of microbial infections.
