Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
- List, classify and describe substances of abuse and describe its pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics
- In Lab classes students are expected to learn and apply analytical methodologies aiming at the identification and quantification of substances of abuse, namely
- Know how to identify a substance of abuse using screening tests and explain the basics of screening tests
- To be able to explain the analytical techniques, to understand the parameters involved in the selection of the method and to know how to select an analytical strategy for a given scenario
- To be able to analyze and discuss critically potential techniques for laboratory analysis of substances commonly found
- Know how to use the computer software related to the equipment
- Interpret the results in a meaningful and structured way in the context of teamwork
