Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
The overall objective of CU is to consolidate knowledge about the characteristics of living systems.Thus, specific learning objectives (LO) are:
- Understand and know the evolution, taxonomy and systematics of living beings.
- Know how to identify and characterize living beings, in particular those most important to the forensic sciences (bacteria, protists, fungi, animals and plants).
- Promote the observation and systematization capacities through experiments of colonization of organic matter in putrefaction, identification of plants and elaboration of a herbarium of plants.
- Describe the configuration and demonstrate the competent use of microscopes.
- Demonstrate understanding and adherence to good safety practices at work (personal safety, safety of team members and other gifts etc).
Syllabus:
- Principles of organization and cell function.
- Classification and nomenclature of different kingdoms.
- Evolution and biodiversity.
- Reproduction.
- Processes of adaptation to the environment.
