Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:

The overall objective of CU is to consolidate knowledge about the characteristics of living systems.Thus, specific learning objectives (LO) are:

  1. Understand and know the evolution, taxonomy and systematics of living beings.
  2. Know how to identify and characterize living beings, in particular those most important to the forensic sciences (bacteria, protists, fungi, animals and plants).
  3. Promote the observation and systematization capacities through experiments of colonization of organic matter in putrefaction, identification of plants and elaboration of a herbarium of plants.
  4. Describe the configuration and demonstrate the competent use of microscopes.
  5. Demonstrate understanding and adherence to good safety practices at work (personal safety, safety of team members and other gifts etc).

 

Syllabus:
  1. Principles of organization and cell function.
  2. Classification and nomenclature of different kingdoms.
  3. Evolution and biodiversity.
  4. Reproduction.
  5. Processes of adaptation to the environment.
