Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:

Objectives:

  • To develop knowledge, attitudes, and skills previously acquired on other CUs, such as integrating and applying these to Medicine.
  • To acquire knowledge of the basics of clinical thinking and method for an adequate sign and symptom collection.
  • To acquire medical lexicon to allow effective communication with peers and patients.
  • To boost the need for ongoing training.
  • To acquire knowledge on general pathology, especially in regards to most relevant dental pathologies, considering either its prevalence, or the complaints that stem from such conditions, or also because they can limit dental intervention.
Syllabus:

Concept, etiology, symptomatology, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic approach to different pathologies:

  1. Hematological pathologies.
  2. Renal pathologies.
  3. Endocrine and metabolic pathologies.
  4. Gastrointestinal pathologies.
  5. Neurological pathologies.
  6. Infectious pathologies.
