Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:

This UC aims to acquire integrated knowledge (theoretical and applied) on Organizational Psychology and develop an overview of the psychologist in organizations; Understand the importance of the scientific study of organizations, critically assess and compare the major theories of organizations; know the main psychological processes in organizations and groups; Recognition of the main factors of individual and group effects on productivity and performance of organizations; distinguish, characterize processes of influence in organizational communication.
In this UC, students should: Understand the intervention in different organizational contexts; Identify the various areas of Organizational Psychology; define what organizations are and what their attributes; distinguish the contribution of different theories for the design and management of organizations.

  1. Conceptual definition of the field of organizational psychology: brief synopsis of the history.
  2. Organizational theories.
  3. Organizations as complex adaptive systems.
  4. Psychological processes in organizations.
  5. Individuals and organizations.
  6. Skills and personality traits.
  7. Formation and development of groups and teams.
  8. Factors efficacy groups and teams.
  9. Decision making in organizations.
  10. Leadership.
  11. Culture and organizational change.
  12. Communication and organizational structure.
  13. Motivation and organizational climate.
  14. Recruiting and selecting people in organizations.
