Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
This curricular unit aims at conveying theoretical and practical knowledge of Multivariate Statistics with applications to research instruments in Psychology, namely in the development, validation and application of questionnaires.
The competences to develop are the following:
- Identification and interpretation of associations between variables in multivariate analysis of data.
- Identification and validation of the assumptions for multivariate analysis of data.
- Application of multivariate methods of data analysis in research work in Psychology, using the SPSS software.
- Characterization of samples and description of results of experimental and empirical studies, according to APA standards.

- Cluster analysis.
- Principal components analysis.
- Factor analysis.
- Discriminant analysis.
- Logistic regression.
- Measurement precision and accuracy on social sciences.
- Applications to research in psychology.
