Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:

At the end of the course students should be able:

  • To select and know how to perform the evaluation, identifying problems of the individual with respiratory dysfunction and / or cardiovascular diseases;
  • To set the right objectives and adjust them to short, medium and long term, and also, how to correctly record the intervention;
  • To plan and implement an appropriate intervention program to face the needs of the individual or group and evaluate the functional results;
  • To know and implement correctly the techniques of Respiratory Therapy and to enumerate, warnings and contraindications of these techniques;
  • To Know how to perform the techniques of pulmonary expansion / thoracic mobility; select and implement the airway clearance techniques; and adapt them to each specific clinical case;
  • To know how to adapt the different manual and instrumental techniques to the different specific conditions of the user;
  • To learn to recognize and handle devices to the airway and artificial airway;
  • To know how to recognize the different techniques of cardiac function evaluation, interpret their results and adjust the intervention to the specific condition of the user;
  • To know how to effectively communicate your intervention to the multidisciplinary team;
  • To implement evidence-based best practices this area of intervention.
