Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:

Goals:

  • Identify needs, acquire intervention capacities and develop autonomous role in caring for the person, family and community.
  • Caring for the person, family and community, with a view to their autonomy in health and disease processes.
  • Develop competencies that lead to reinforcement of actions in the field of health promotion, prevention and eradication of preventable diseases, and continuity of care among individuals, families and other groups in the community.
  • Familiarize with the Health Planning Methodology in order to understand the genesis of the Health Centred Activity Plan.
  • Conduct a functional complimentarily with other health professionals.

Skills:

  • Identifies needs and develops the autonomous role of caring for the person, family and community in the health area throughout the life cycle (uses diagnostic interview, physical examination and observation).
  • Develops the competencies that lead to the reinforcement of actions in the field of health promotion, prevention and eradication of preventable diseases, and continuity of care among individuals, families and other groups in the community.
  • Mobilizes the knowledge acquired necessary to solve the situations involved.
  • It leads to a performance of functional complementarily relative to other health professionals.
  • Develops capacities aimed at raising critical awareness about health and its determinants and free and informed decision-making.
Syllabus:

Internship:

The programmatic contents focus on the nursing interventions to the person, family and communities in different situations throughout the life cycle. The student should deepen and apply the contributions and knowledge of the various UC´s curricular antecedents, namely: Person-centered care throughout the life cycle in a complementary care; Epidemiologically relevant health-disease situations; Epidemiologically relevant health-disease situations; Ethical issues arising from the appreciation, decision-making and nursing intervention; Health education; Nursing process.
