Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
  • Objectives: Learn the historical and epistemological path of Nursing, providing its comprehension as a subject and profession; Develop basic instruments, in order to promote a relationship of trust with the client; Identify personal and professional competences in the development as a citizen; Acquire competences in the development of training projects.
  • Skills: Explains the historical and epistemological evolution of Nursing, according to the social evolution; Describes central concepts, currents and schools of thought in Nursing; Reflects on theories and theoretical models of Nursing and on their contribution to the care practice; Ascertains fundamental instruments in Nursing care; Ascertains communication principles in the relationship with the client and family; Demonstrates ways of construction of the therapeutical relationship with the client and family; Defines the nurses’ inherent qualities as a person; Ascertains the importance of concepts such as: self-conscience, motivation, attitude, intelligence, learning, memory, personality, creativity, among others; Reflects on himself and on the other in the actual social context; Describes fundamental elements in the structure and presentation of academic works; Uses informational and communicational techniques in the development of the academic trajectory.
