Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
- Provide students with contact with the reality of a clinical and research laboratory
- Provide the student with the fundamental knowledge about safe handling of biological materials, reagents and equipment so that they can have attitudes and behaviors appropriate to the laboratory practice.
- Contribute to the development of the responsibility and organization inherent to the Veterinary Medicine profession, as well as communication skills and teamwork.
Syllabus:
- Principles and safety rules in laboratory work: prevention of chemical and microbiological hazards, safety standards and good laboratory practices.
- Visits to IUEM labs and protocol labs where students follow routine and research activities
