Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
The UC Stage II represents a period of learning that aims to provide students with a first contact with the professional reality, allowing him to apply the knowledge acquired during training, theoretical and practical.
It also allows to develop the performance capabilities and competencies necessary for the evaluation, planning, executing tasks and solving problems related to future professional activity, as well as develop appropriate ethical and professional behavior.
At the end of the internship the student should be able to:
- Demonstrate technical and scientific capacity in the areas of making and repairing dentures.
- Apply valuation models and register appropriate to the dental practice.
- Arrange and adjust the making time dental prostheses.
- Using information sources whenever circumstances require.
- Demonstrate ability to work in team and professional behavior in accordance with the ethical principles and ethical.
Syllabus:
Internship:
- MANUFACTURE AND REPAIR FOR ALL TYPES OF DENTAL PROSTHESES
- APPLICATION OF VALUATION MODELS AND REGISTER APPROPRIATE TO THE DENTAL PRACTICE
- DESIGN AND PLANNING OF DENTAL CONSTRUCT
- DEVELOPMENT OF VARIOUS GENERAL SKILLS IMPORTANT TO THE DENTAL TECHNICIAN, SUCH AS
Describe the general procedures of the laboratory, principles of physics, chemistry and other basic sciences directly related to the manufacture of dental prostheses.
Identify and describe the characteristics and properties of dental materials directly associated with the construction of dentures.
Describe the characteristics and handling of equipment and tools related directly to the construction of dentures.
Monitor and coordinate the entire process of preparing a dental prosthesis.
Demonstrate competence in understanding prescriptions, assessing the feasibility of the construction of dentures prescribed.
Give technical advice clinic in order to plan together with the doctor, the different options for a determinate patient.
Know and identify the basic principles of management, supervision and laboratory relationship between the dental technician with other technical team of oral health and other health professionals.
Knowing the rules of hygiene and safety, including disinfection, as well as the basics of first aid and toxicity. - KNOW AND DESCRIBE THE ETHICAL AND LEGAL PROFESSION
