Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:

Instrumental skills:

  • To be able to organize, plan, identify problems and propose solutions conducive to professional improvement.
  • To be able to describe, fabricate work models and dies for metal ceramic restorations by using the appropriate instruments, equipment and materials. Work protocols.
  • To plan, fabricate and finish unitary crown restorations in ceramic.

Interpersonal skills:

  • To show empathy towards others, respect ethics and professional deontology.
  • Taking responsibility for one’s actions, learning from ongoing self-evaluation.
  • Ability to adjust to new situations.

Systemic skills:

  • To communicate assertively, effectively and appropriately with peers and teaching staff.

  1. Dental Anatomy and its Importance in Diagnostic Wax-Up and Ceramic Sculpture.
  2. Types of Metal Alloys for Metal Ceramic Restorations; Ceramic to Metal Bonding.
  3. The Ceramics.
  4. Ceramics: Introduction, History and Evolution; Use in Dentistry; Types and Specific Purposes of Ceramics, Work Protocols, Shapes, Forms and Work Tools, Humidity Control, Aesthetics, Shape and Colour, Occlusion, etc.
