Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
Goals:
- Provide an opportunity for integration, solidification and development of Nursing interventions performed and apprehended throughout the course, projecting each student to the beginning of their professional activity.
- To mobilize and integrate the different knowledge and skills in order to allow a transition from the student to the professional role.
Skills:
- It assumes responsibility and responds by its actions and the judgments that elaborates, recognizing the limits of its role and its competence.
- It acts in accordance with the Code of Ethics and other applicable legislation, engaging in ethical decision-making.
- It uses knowledge and techniques in an appropriate manner, bases its decision and action, incorporating research results.
- Applies critical thinking and problem solving techniques.
- It addresses the person / client, family and community in a holistic perspective taking into account the multiple determinants of health and provides relevant information to help achieve optimal levels of health and rehabilitation.
- Recognizes the potential of health education in nursing interventions and acts to empower the family and community to adopt healthy lifestyles.
- Applies knowledge about resources for health promotion and education, uses appropriate teaching-learning strategies and evaluates processes and results, participating in teamwork.
- Continuously and systematically carries out the Process Steps - data collection, planning, execution and evaluation - consistently communicating the relevant information in a correct and understandable way, respecting its area of competence and the limits of the professional relationship with the client.
- Initiates, develops and suspends therapeutic relationships with the person/client and/or caregivers, through the use of appropriate communication and information, promoting their empowerment and autonomy.
- Uses the information resources available in an effective and appropriate manner with the person/client, peers and multiprofessional team.
- Acts according to the principles of safety, promotes a safe environment of care, using communication, evaluation, and strategies of quality assurance, risk management and infection control.
- Establishes and maintains constructive working relationships with nurses and other multidisciplinary team, identifying and valuing their roles and capabilities.
- Participates with health team members in making decisions regarding the person/client, taking into account the different perspectives.
- Knows the principles of delegation and uses support strategies, when supervising, assuming its responsibility.
- Promotes and maintains the professional image of nursing and contributes actively to its development, valuing the research and continuous improvement of the quality of health care and nursing.
- It analyzes and evaluates its practices regularly, assertively, taking responsibility for their learning.
