Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
  • Instrumental skills: Differentiate between qualitative studies and quantitative studies; Develop qualitative methodologies; Identify the stages related to the research project; Implement a research project.
  • Interpersonal skills: Comply with the ethical principles of research: beneficence, autonomy and justice; Demonstrate theoretical knowledge and theoretical and practical plan to enable the development of the final monograph of course; Defending the draft monograph end of the course; Participate in research.
  • Systemic skills: Analyze the various research methodologies; Interpret the importance of research to the science of nursing; Reflect on the importance of research to the nursing profession, especially for the quality of health care; To contribute to solubility problems of nursing through action research; Appreciate the need for dissemination of the scientific Works.
Syllabus:
  1. Standards for preparation of final monograph of course.
  2. Phases of the project research.
  3. Characteristics of Studies on qualitative and quantitative research.
  4. Strategies of qualitative research.
  5. Strategies of quantitative research.
  6. Qualitative studies: phenomenological and ethnographic, case study, "Grounded Theory" and the appreciative inquiry.
  7. Data analysis: content analysis.
