Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
The Psychology of Gender is a cross-sectional area of knowledge to any kind of expertise. Thus, the purpose of this UC is: Introduce the basic concepts about the psychology of gender; develop an understanding of the basic concepts to analyze the roles, relationships and situations in a gender perspective; dominate the theoretical foundations of gender relations; integrate knowledge and research on gender; analyze thoughts, values and beliefs that structure and determine relations and social practices between men and women.
This course aims at the acquisition of the following skills: Establish the difference between the concepts to understand the theoretical and methodological implications of the concept of gender; understand the social construction of these concepts and the importance of culture and social change in their societal and individual expression; analyze some problematic societal (e.g. domestic violence, femicide) in the light of theoretical frameworks available.
