Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:

The curricular unit integrates the professional traineeship in community and hospital pharmacy and includes the traineeship report. This aims to:

  • Allow direct contact of students with two important professional areas for pharmacist activity and its gradual integration into the future professional environment
  • Provide the student an opportunity to integrate and apply the knowledge learned in the MICF in a real working environment
  • Provide the student an opportunity to direct contact the patient, physicians and other health professionals
  • To set an appropriate context to the preparation and public discussion of the monograph included in the internship report
Syllabus:

COMMUNITY PHARMACY
Pharmacy characterization
Pharmacy organization, management and legislation
Supply, storage and preservation; parameters for the selection of suppliers; drugs acquisition criteria; criteria for establishment and management of stocks
Recipes: NHS and Health Subsystems
Preparation and Drug Handling
Medical devices
Supplements and Children
Veterinary Medicinal Products
Phytotherapy
Dermopharmacy

HOSPITAL PHARMACY
Supply, storage and conservation of medicines
Production and quality control of pharmaceutical forms
Drug information directed to the solution of pharmacotherapeutic problems
Distribution and use of drugs according to characteristics of the hospital
Clinical activities in collaboration with the rest of the care team
Pharmacist in assisted nutrition programs, clinical pharmacokinetics and pharmacovigilance
