Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:

Provide the students with knowledge applicable in the future of his professional activity, promoting new skills in that field and its application in the program’s scientific area. The course contents cover a wide approach in the field of ergonomics applied to dentistry, giving the student knowledge that will allow proper performance of their profession as dentists in the future.

Syllabus:
  1. Ergonomics and dentistry.
  2. Instrumental design, cognitive design, design of the physical space.
  3. Requirements of ergonomic equipment.
  4. Lighting, thermal and acoustic environment in the dental office.
  5. Planning an Ergonomic Dental Office: management and organization.
  6. Workspaces at the Office (Circle A, B and C).
  7. Principles of working with 4 Handed Dentistry. Most common injuries in dentist: musculoskeletal, visual, auditory and psychosomatic. Prevention measures for dentist injuries.
