Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:

The UC Stage I provide students with a first contact with the professional reality, allowing them to apply the knowledge acquired during training. It also allows them to develop the performance capabilities and competencies necessary for the evaluation, planning, executing tasks and solving problems related to future professional activity.
The student will have the opportunity to join a team of oral health and to develop projects in the laboratories of ESSEM.
At the end of the internship the student should be able to:

  • Demonstrate technical and scientific capacity in the areas of making and repairing dentures.
  • Apply valuation models and register appropriate to the dental practice.
  • Arrange and adjust the making time Dental prostheses.
  • Using information sources whenever circumstances require.
  • Demonstrate ability to work in team and professional behavior in accordance with the ethical principles and ethical.
Syllabus:

Internship:

  1. MANUFACTURE/REPAIR FOR ALL TYPES OF DENTAL PROSTHESES
  2. DESIGN / PLANNING OF DENTAL CONSTRUCT
  3. DEVELOPMENT OF SKILLS IMPORTANT TO THE DENTAL TECHNICIAN, SUCH AS:
    Describe the general procedures of the laboratory, principles of physics, chemistry and other basic sciences.
    Identify and describe the characteristics and properties of dental materials.
    Describe the characteristics and handling of equipment and tools.
    Monitor/coordinate the entire process of preparing.
    Demonstrate competence in understanding prescriptions, assessing the feasibility of the construction.
    Give technical advice to plan with the doctor, the different options.
    Know and identify the basic principles of management, supervision and laboratory relationship between the dental technician with other health professionals.
    Knowing the rules of hygiene and safety, including disinfection.
    Know and describe the ethical and legal profession.
