Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
The student at the end of the course should be able to develop the fullest possible geriatric clinical history, should be able to diagnose the various oral pathologies of a geriatric patient and program an effective treatment plan, perform all necessary acts to clinical oral health patient and get a good doctor/patient relationship demonstrated by the student during the clinical practice.
Syllabus:
- Introduction to geriatric: objectives, methods and means.
- Theories of aging.
- Physiological changes in the elderly.
- Systemic pathologies in the elderly.
- Oral pathology associated with geriatric patients.
- Clinical history and treatment plan of the geriatric patient.
- Treatment of the geriatric patient: dentistry , endodontic , periodontic and surgery.
- Oral rehabilitation of the elderly patient.
