Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:

The student at the end of the course should be able to develop the fullest possible geriatric clinical history, should be able to diagnose the various oral pathologies of a geriatric patient and program an effective treatment plan, perform all necessary acts to clinical oral health patient and get a good doctor/patient relationship demonstrated by the student during the clinical practice.

Syllabus:
  1. Introduction to geriatric: objectives, methods and means.
  2. Theories of aging.
  3. Physiological changes in the elderly.
  4. Systemic pathologies in the elderly.
  5. Oral pathology associated with geriatric patients.
  6. Clinical history and treatment plan of the geriatric patient.
  7. Treatment of the geriatric patient: dentistry , endodontic , periodontic and surgery.
  8. Oral rehabilitation of the elderly patient.
