Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

  • To develop in students the spirit of research and scientific precision.
  • To provide the students knowledge about: the history and development of the dental prosthesis; Fundamental principles of materials for prosthetic purposes; Planning and construction of a Fixed Prosthodontics.
  • To develop in students the routine of study, rigor and precision in correct use of technical- professional language.
  • To encourage the curiosity and interest of the student, so that he, with new ideas, contributes to the development of Prosthodontics.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

  • To continue to the subjects taught in the course, with particular focus on the disciplines of Fixed Prosthodontics and Implant prosthesis.
  • During this course, students should be able to demonstrate in writing, orally and in practice that they had acquired the basic knowledge to plan and fabricate hybrid prostheses on implants and over dentures.
  • It aims to acquire general knowledge about the technical nomenclature and theories applied exclusively to fixed prosthodontics.
